Jarrett Perns EN 101-4011 24 September 2015 Personal Narrative The Newest Member â€Å"Who thought the baptism water would be as cold as an ice bath?† Much like anyone growing up in Las Vegas, or otherwise known as â€Å"Sin City,† we have always been surrounded by people from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those people are commonly known as â€Å"Mormons.† Boy, let me tell you, there are Mormons everywhere in Vegas! There was always something about them that made me interested. There was a light as bright as the sun that always shined from them. They always had a smile on their face, from ear to ear and once you start talking to them I found that they are the nicest people. I then got to know and started hanging out with the Mormons. I then became interested with the religion aspect. I grew up in a loving family that taught me good morals and supported me from day one. I can t recall a time in my life that I didn t think of myself as Mormon. Which is kind of odd I suppose, as I didn t grow up in a home whe re the Mormon gospel was lived. My dad is my role model. He was as honest and honorable as any man I’ve ever known completely just in his dealings with his fellowmen. We were a little religious when I was growing up. My dad was Catholic so he prepared us for Communion and Confirmation into the Catholic church. I didn’t like how my dad forced the whole religion upon me. There isn’t a single memory in my head of any family prayer.
